Leigha Andrews Driving School – Terms and conditions. Please read carefully.

 

  1. Booking Deposit Policy:

A ” Booking Deposit ” minimum of €50.00 must be paid to secure any booking. Lessons can only be booked once this deposit has been made. We can accept payment by Credit / Debit card, Bank Transfer.

  1. Cancellations Policy:

Cancellations should be made directly with our office given a minimum of 48 hrs notice to cancel an arranged lesson. Any cancellation that does not give a minimum of 48 hrs notice will be charged at the full price of the arranged lesson.

  1. Gift Voucher Policy:

All gift vouchers are valid for 6 months from the date of purchase. vouchers are non-transferable and non-refundable.

  1. Lessons Policy:

All lessons must be taken within 6 months of the date of purchase. All lessons are prepaid in advance of the lesson. Prepaid lessons are non-transferable.

  1. Special Offer Price Policy:

All special offer prices are based on the following:

(1) payment paid upfront in full

(2) must be taken within 6 months from the date of purchase

(3) are non-transferable or refundable.

  1. Car Hire for use on Driving Test Policy:

Students who wish to hire one of our School Cars must take a minimum of 2 hours Pre Test lessons before a car may be offered for hire to a student for use on their Driving Test. If after taking the 2 Hours Pre-test Lessons and if the Driving Instructor considers that the student is not at a safe Driving standard. The Driving Instructor can refuse to hire their vehicle to the student for use on their Driving Test.

Preference will be given to existing Leigha Andrews Driving School Clients {where Possible}

  1. EDT Logbook Policy:

A fee of €5 will be charged for EDT logbooks

  1. Cooling Off Period:

All purchases made with Leigha Andrews Driving School are subject to a 14-day cooling off period from date of purchase. Your purchase may be cancelled, and a refund of any credit balance obtained.

  1. Refunds Policy:

All payments are non-refundable. In exceptional circumstances where a student is not happy with their ADI and Leigha Andrews Driving School cannot provide another ADI a refund may be issued at the discretion of Leigha Andrews Driving School.

  1. Learner Permit / Driving Licence Policy:

Failure to show a valid learner permit before the commencement of the Driving Lesson will result in the loss of the lesson and any fees paid. You must carry a valid Learner Permit or Full Driving Licence on each of your Driving Lessons, It Is an offence to drive without a valid Licence or Permit.

  1. Endorsement/ Restrictions Policy:

Endorsements or restrictions on your licence preventing you from driving at the appointment time will result in loss of the lesson and any fees paid.

  1. Waiting Time Policy:

In their own interests’ learners are advised to be punctual for their lesson appointments. All such appointments should be recorded (and checked where possible by their instructor) to ensure that mistakes are avoided. The instructor would normally wait a maximum of 30 minutes before the lesson would be abandoned and the lesson fee forfeited. A reciprocal waiting time may become necessary if the instructor is delayed due to unforeseen circumstances. Any lesson time lost as a result of this would be made up by the instructor either at the end of the normal lesson time if possible or at a later date.

  1. Break down Policy:

In the event of a mechanical breakdown of the vehicle in which you have been learning to drive, or for any other reason, the instructor reserves the right to re-arrange a driving lesson to a time convenient to both you and the ADI.

  1. Postponed/cancelled Driving Test Policy:

Ten clear days’ notice of cancellation or postponement is required by the RSA. Failure to provide the required notice will result in the loss of your test fee. Leigha Andrews Driving School cannot be held responsible for any postponement or cancellation by the RSA.

From time me to time a driving test is cancelled by the RSA and very little notice is given on occasion. If you’re hiring our car for a test and the test is cancelled at the last minute you will NOT be charged for hiring the car. If your test is cancelled you must let Leigha Andrews Driving School know asap and please ensure you know the correct time, date and test location.

If you get the time wrong and in doing so you’re late or too early for a driving test, you’ll be charged for any extra time given if you’re too early. If you intend to hire a school car and we arrive at the test centre too late because you forgot the time, you’ll be charged for the pre-test and the car hire. This is if the driving test isn’t conducted.

  1. Refusal Policy:

We at Leigha Andrews Driving School reserve the right to refuse a driving lesson or terminate a driving lesson should the driver be under the influence of alcohol or any other substances that would contravene road safety or for any safety reason. If at any point an ADI feels threatened or unsafe, they have the right to stop the lesson and refuse to provide any further lessons with said student, In such an incidence Leigha Andrews Driving School will refund any outstanding prepaid balance.

  1. Driving Test Car Hire policy:

Leigha Andrews Driving School reserve the right to withdraw our cars for the test without notice, should the ADI consider that you are not to test standard.

  1. Appointment Times Policy:

All appointment times are calculated from the pickup point to time of return. If the student wishes to avail of the maximum time of training, then the student should meet the appointed Instructor at the test centre.

  1. Instructor Cancellation Policy:

All lessons are booked with the full intention of them being delivered by your Leigha Andrews Driving School. However, in the unlikely event that it becomes necessary for us to cancel a lesson, we will endeavour to provide you with as much notice as possible and we will always seek to offer you an alternative time or date that is suitable for you. Should this not be possible, then upon your request, the lesson fee (if prepaid) will be refunded to you in full. Our driving test bookings always take priority over other lessons. Therefore, your lesson may be postponed allowing for someone else’s driving test to take place and vice-versa. Changes to lesson bookings as a result of this will be notified immediately.

  1. Changing Instructor Request Policy:

A student may request to change Instructor, if Leigha Andrews Driving School cannot facilitate this a refund will be issued for any prepaid lessons outstanding.

  1. Complaints Policy:

Leigha Andrews Driving School would like you to be delighted with your driving lessons. If you are not satisfied, then any complaints should be made in the first instance to your instructor. If a suitable solution is not reached, then the complaint should be put in writing to Leigha Andrews Driving School via the contact us form or to info@leighaandrews.ie

  1. Mobile Phone / Mobile Device Policy:

Students May Not use a Mobile phone during the lesson. Instructors may at certain times use their mobile phones or mobile devices during the lesson to [a] to look back and review an incident that was recorded on the car camera. [b] The Instructor may use a mobile phone during a Driving Lesson in exceptional circumstances.   The Instructor will only ever use these devices if the Instructor feels it is safe to do so.

  1. Dash cams / CCTV Recording device policy:

Students should be aware that there are recording devises in all ” Leigha Andrews Driving School vehicles. These Cameras record both inside and the outside of the vehicle during the Driving Lesson. The purpose of the CCTV system in the vehicles is to create a safe environment for the Instructors and Students alike. To Provide evidence to substantiate or rebut any allegations made, and for the improvement of performance and quality of service.

  1. Learner Comfort and Safety

There are dual controls fitted in all driving school cars but will only be used in case of emergency or any situation where there’s potential for danger to you, the pupil, Instructor or any other road user. From time to time the instructor may take the steering wheel where there’s any possibility of danger or loss of control by the pupil The Use of dual controls and taking the steering wheel is done only as a precaution. The pupil is allowed to drive the car independently while under instruction and supervision.

Smoking or Vaping is not permitted in the vehicle while the lesson is taking place.
 

You will not be allowed the drive without proper footwear, I.e. barefoot. You must wear flat shoes or trainers with a proper sole. Stiletto heels and sandals will not be allowed, and this same rule applies for a driving test applicant. Learners must also take note of any medication they are taking that may affect their ability to drive safely and advise their instructor accordingly before taking any lesson booked.

  1. Providing own car

If you’re providing your own car for your driving lesson it is protocol the check your indicators at the front and back of your vehicle are in working order as well as your brake lights, Also having required “L” Plate displayed on both front and rear af the vehicle. It is your legal requirement to ensure your NCT, TAX & YOUR INSURANCE is valid on the day of your driving lesson or driving test.
